How I started.
I purchased six of the corner pulleys.
and 3 of the Box Pulleys that can work as corners or hold downs.
I used the Injoy plans to build my own lure stand and purchased a starter from a local starter rebuilder. I got the heaviest duty Sears Deep Cycle Marine battery that they had. If you don't feel like building your own stand, you can purchase a completely built lure coursing machine from Injoy. He even has the ultimate machine for training that has been rewired so that it will run forward or reverse.
There are a couple different options for the pulley on the lure machine. When I started out, I bought the cheap pulley that Injoy sells. This pulley works just fine for most lure coursing with Jack Russells. It won't run a 800+ yard course well. (nobody will probably be running Jack Russells that far any ways) The cheap pulley requires more string tension and will not work when the string gets wet.

You will need a way to take up the string at the end of the day. You can purchase a take up wheel from Injoy, or make one yourself. The Wheel barrow wheel that is used on some of the homemade Jack Russell racing machines would probably work for this.

You will need a good battery/batteries and a battery charger. I use a Sears deep cycle marine battery that is the biggest one that they sell. I have been very happy with it. If you are going to be running a lot of dogs, one battery won't be enough. The Lure Course uses them up pretty fast compared to the racetrack.

Last, but not least you need string. Don't use a twisted string because it won't last very long. You need a braided nylon string. This can be purchased from Injoy also.

OK, what should I start out with, and how much will it cost?
I have put together four lists of parts and prices starting with an "Economy" setup for the occasional user to the "Master" setup for the JRT Club wanting to run a lot of lure coursing at fundays and trials. I might have missed something, please tell me if I did.
